A Bit About Me, Johnny G, and How Spirited Love Notes were born:

First, I want to welcome you to this site, Spirited Love Notes. It's a pleasure to present to you these energetically happy notes. I can't tell you how much fun I have making Spirited Love Notes. I also experience so much self-discovery and I love seeing my art pushed to the next level. I also love seeing the reaction of the people who take home these Notes, many times taking them home just for themselves.

I have to admit, the making of these cards has been somewhat unexpected but most welcome. You see, over the last ten years I have worked as a professional photographer and I just dabbled in painting. When I wasn't working on some photo project, I'd paint with that lingering hope that painting would be more part of my profession than just a hobby.

A few years ago, my artwork started receiving recognition from peers and the public and this encouraged me to take the painting more seriously. I had my first public showing of work in 2006 and I saw what joy my paintings and fine art photography brought to people including selling quite a few pieces. I knew I was on the right track.

A few months after the show, I was looking for a unique gift to give a friend. I just happened to glance at a stack of my paper artwork which had been hanging around waiting to be of service. I grabbed a painted sheet, carefully cut it up into cards, and gave one as my gift with a personalized handwritten message inside. I continued giving the rest of those cards away on different occasions and they were a hit! People started requesting them from me and so the Greeting Card line was born.

But what about the "Spirited" part, Johnny G, when did that come into the picture? Good question, Johnny G. During the summer of 2007, I began using Auracle's Colour Therapy*** within my personal life and saw what a positive change it did for me. And because I kept these Bottles of Light around my studio space for inspiration when I painted, it occurred to me one day to infuse these colours into the cards I was painting to bring in that element of living, vibrational healing energies. Once the sheet of paper was dry, I definitely felt the energies beaming from this new piece of art.

Today, this intimate approach is still the same. I paint on a sheet of watercolor paper using acrylic paints, infuse the colour frequencies of Auracle's Colour Therapy Bottles and once dry, I cut up the artwork into smaller sections which are then used as these Spirited Love Notes. Each card comes from a family of 8 - 12 cards taken from the same painting. I love the idea that these family of Sprited Love Notes end up in many different places, but all originate from the same painting. So won't you take one (or some) with you as well?
